There is a new controversy brewing:
According to Tax experts,
Palin failed to report $43,000 that the State of Alaska paid the Governor in 2006 and 2007 as an "allowance" for her husband and children’s travel.
She may owe back taxes. If she refuses to correct her tax statements and pay back taxes, she could get hit with the section 6662 penalty for "negligence or disregard of rules or regulations."
